Default Trailer floor

After spending the weekend in pouring rain at RA, I discovered that the checkerboard flooring in my trailer is slicker than owl sh*t when wet. I've already struggled to get my car backed out of the trailer when the temp is low and the trailer is pointing downhill (east tn trailer parking spot = cliff-face).

So what are my options for floor covering. Definitely on a tight budget. Will the roll-on bedliner stuff work or will the tires peel it off?

i used a gray epoxy floor paint/ Put a few handfulls of sand in the epoxy mix before painting.

Not slick when wet.

or use oil based primer paint. Use light gray. Black may hide small parts if dropped on hide tiny drips that may mean something

You could use some of the anti-slip strips that are use for steps and ramps. That way you not into redoing your whole floor.

I found this works pretty good-- years back I stopped 1/2" from putting a new 1/4 panel on my camaro loading on a wet ramp. Mcmaster.com has some in rolls.

why not just get a winch and pull it up and its cheaper and easier then redoing a floor...I occasionally do that on wet days for my open trailer. drive the front wheels up..hook up my winch and pull to where I want... no worries, plus I dont have to crawl out windows. The next thing I want is a wireless winch control.

We've used the herculiner product around the shop with good success, metal walkways, etc. I've never used it in a trailer, but I will be. Its easy enough to deal with though that I figured even if I have peal ups from time to time I could just roll back over those spots when nec.

The sand in epoxy idea is also a good one.

I would use whichever one wouldn't hurt as bad when your on your knees in shorts tying the car down.

Lowes sells Floor/Decking paint that is durable, and they sell the "sand" additive right there. We used it on our basement steps, and it works well.

I don't know if it can be used directly on your floor, as you'd likely need to pull it out, apply a primer, then the paint.

I have what Gary suggested in my personnel trailer. I used indoor/outdoor carpet and it is really nice. When you lay down to strap the car it is not cold or dirty. I used truck bed spray liner on my ramp door to make sure I have plenty of traction if it is raining. Our Zip trailer had the aluminum ATP in it, and of course it looks nice, but if it gets wet you need ice skates and you can forget about pulling a car up into it without a winch. The carpet works very well and it is easy to keep clean. I have had it in my trailer for 8 years and it still looks great.

The wireless is a must. It is just great. A must have.

How about Pour 15 on the floor. I was thinking of trying it.

Went with garage floor epoxy and extra sand. I tink it's going to work great.
