Default Can you fit 4 wheels/tires in the car

I haven't ried it, wondering if anyone can fit all 4 track wheels inside a C6 the car on the way to the track?

I tried and found it hard to do. I got three in the rear and one in passenger seat. It was a tight fit for three in the rear and I didn't like hauling a tire in the passenger seat so I had wife haul them in the Blazer and I was just going about 10 miles. If you have a long haul, it would be rough. It can be done but not easly. This was in my C5, I havn't tried it in my C6Z06 which has larger wheels in width and height.

I just hate the thought of adding a hitch and towing a rickety trailer.

You can probably do it using your passenger seat but you wouldn't have much room for anything else. Assuming there is as much room in a C6 as there is in a C5. I think they are vere close to the same but even a standard C6 has slightly larger tires than a C5.

I've comfortably fit the OEM wagon wheels and tires (245's and 275's) in the back of my C5 coupe. Not sure of the C6 though.

How did you get them all in the rear? I tried all kinds of different ways, laying them down, standing up and all combinations. I could only get three of them in the rear. What is your trick? I had same tires as you 245/17 and 275/18 tires, OEM C5 sizes.

Doubt you can do it in a C6. The C5's cargo area is about 5-inches longer, wider and deeper plus stock wheels/tires are narrower.

Tire/tool trailer works great.

I personally wouldn't want four, 50 lb potential projectiles inside the car.

I just looked this up. C6's are just a bit smaller.

It can be done, but not safely in my opinion. The only way to get all four in is to have three in the back hatch and you'd have to tie the hatch down as it won't close. I borrowed four stock wheels to see if it could be done. Even thought about removing the seat, but there just wasn't enough room to get more than one in the front.
Once I saw how they had to sit, I decided against it as it was a 5hr drive. If it was around the corner, maybe.

there's no reason a tire trailer has to be rickety

Tractor supply sells decent 4x6 trailers with a mesh metal deck for around $300 and harbor frieght has the "DIY" trailer kits as well... depending on your state, it might be tougher to go that route.

Since I've got a C5Z, there's no way you're getting that in the car and have room for gear, luggage, and tools.

I'd be leary of driving any distance with them in the hatch... it was bad enough in the back seat of the Cobalt with them strapped in.

Getting in a accident with loose wheels in the car could be disastrous.

For those of us who don't have the adequate garage space or live in a neighborhood where the HOA's won't allow traliers sitting outside, it's the only option. Hooking a trailer up to the back of a corvette track car is not exactly the safest most ideal scenario either.

it's not ideal for sure, but how is it unsafe? A 400 hp vette will pull and stop a 3x5 or 4x6 landscape trailer like nothing is even back there.

It's sure safer than jamming 200 lbs worth of loose ballast in the cabin.

If you had a small garage (or any garage), you could almost hang a 3x5 flat deck mesh trailer on the wall in the corner.

Love the golf cart

I don't see how there's anything particularly unsafe about it.

C5 will fit 3 wheels in back one in drivers seat.

Tire trailer: tractor supply, 4x6, w/mesh deck, was about $450. I welded up a tire rack that will take 8 tires. Make sure you keep weight on the tongue. email me for pictures.
