Chin Motorsports @ Sebring anyone?
Is anyone was planning on going to the chin event at Sebring on 4/18? I have never been to a Chin event and was wondering if anyone could give me some input on their events.

I have been to a couple of their RA events. It runs pretty smooth and there are always a lot of different type cars. Actually, the RA event had a closing 1 hr open track for all groups. There was the Ford GT ALMS car there. It was kind of scary getting passed by someone going that fast. I wish Sebring wasn't so far away - it looks like a fun track.

You're going to have a lot of fun. I don't want to add up how many times I've run Sebring with Chin. They run a well orgainzed and very safe event. Try to get your car through tech the day before (usually after 3 pm) so you're ready to go first thing in the morning.
Everything thing at a Chin event runs on time. Be ready.

Mark, runs a great event. I will be there instructing. You will have a fun time just take it easy thru 17 and you will be fine. As mentioned before the Chin events are very well run and things pretty much go on time, you will get lots of track time. See you there. JD

I'll be there. Great events. Sebring is definitely my favorite as is Chin. Only advice would be to show up and claim a garage area in the pits the day before because they will often be full by early the next morning.

I've always wanted to run at Sebring, but from the videos I've seen (including the ALMS race this weekend) it looks so rough that it would certainly rattle every bolt loose in my car with the T1 bars I have. Anyone think it would be better to put the stock C5Z sway bars back on the car if I decide to register?

As said, the bumpy part is on turn 17 which comes right after the long straight. The smoothest line is hugging the inside. The wider you go, the bumpier it gets. And the real problem is you're coming in pretty hot and turning about 120 degrees............a real pucker factor part of the course. The other tight turns are 7 and 10, with 10 being the tougher of the two. Both, however, do have runoff areas should the brakes not do their job, or if you missed your braking zone. I have never run that course in the rain, and with part asphalt and part cement track, I would think that would get a little hairy. It is a fun course that eats up tires and brakes.

Registration FULL for novice! Should have registered last night. Hopefully someone will drop out, I'm on the standby list. Thanks for the input everyone.

I don't like the new PBIR any more than I liked the old Moroso. Pit exit is terrible. You enter the track directly into the line. I don't see how they got FIA approval for that.

Chin runs a first class event. You will be very happy. What I like to refer as happy hour at the end of the day is fun. Remember to respect the slower and novice drivers during happy hour.

I've run Sebring so much I'm starting to thing the track is smooth. I wouldn't be concerned too much about your T1 sway bars. I run very soft springs and huge sway bars. Sebring seems to like that. Then again most race tracks seem to like soft springs.
