Trans-Am Results at Road Atlanta
A big congrats goes out to my good friend Amy Ruman for finishing 3rd in her 1st 2009 Trans-Am race. Amy and I grew up since we were kids watching our fathers race old BP type mid-year Corvettes. Bob got her into spec racers first and then into his trans-am car to run in the SCCA GT1 class. Bob should have known better, cause she won't let him back in the car much.
After many poles, wins and records she has taken the big step and proved she can run with the BIG boys. She is planning on running as much of the new series as possible as well as SCCA GT1 and qualify for the Run-Offs again.

It took me a second but remember Michael from "Setup" I'm glad he's doing well.

Safety Car
Me too, even though they aren't really street cars, I thoroughly enjoyed watching them run. Hoping SCCA can really build the series to major status again.
I don't think you can find any amatuer racing with cars that fast anywhere else in the states, those cars are insanely fast.
The race was crazy too, Tony Ave jump out to a HUGE lead and then about 16 laps in started slowing down at which point second place was Lopez in a Corvette followed closely by another car, a Jag and Micheal Skeen.
By about lap 23 or so they had all caught Ave who was falling off badly. About lap 30 Ave crashed and then Lopez blew a motor, all hell broke loose and I lost track. It was an amazing race to watch. Skeen did a great job, I think they finished under caution as I left with 2 laps left.

I have watch many of Skeens videos in his bimmer at NASA races. He may qualify 1st but starts in back anyway. A few laps latter is up in front.
