looking for autox slicks - not DOT
Hi all
What are the choices in C5 Z06 sizes for dedicated autox tires?
I don't care about whether they're DOT or not. I need the stickiest tires I can get (doesn't everybody?). My car is on the light side at 1800 lbs and 420 RWHP.

If your running 18's all around you can get some awesome used Gran Am Cup tires at a fraction of the cost of new.

unfortunately 17's in the front - may work on actually going to 16's in front next year as I lower the car. This isn't on my vette btw... it's on a home made car loosely based on a Lotus 7, but with LS1, C5 uprights and wheels, camaro rear...

Melting Slicks
non DOT slicks usually take a little while to heat up. I really doubt they'd be better than a Hoosier A6 for an autox.
also, how in the world does your vette weigh 1800 lbs.

takeoffs (275/40R18). The Hoosiers, not the Pirellis.
They were deathly bad at the outset and took a good four laps to get up to
speed in the morning and threeish laps in the afternoon. Even then they
weren't as fast as the old 245/40R18 NT-01's.
Definitely an endurance-driving tire. No good for autox unless you have a
40 mile wide car park...
