Default New shoes!

Some new Hoosier radial slicks, we'll see how they compare to the trusty A6's

I for one, would really like for you to post your comparison with the A6 tires.

Thanks,

Me too... Very interested if it's a fair comparison (car in similar state of tune & alignment, tire sizes similar, etc.).

Thanks!

I'll be swapping them between my current set of A6's (285/335) at next weekend's autox. We have had a few years on A6's, so I think I'll be able to feel a difference. Hope I can get enough heat into them for a fair comparison.

Are you going to be running with us up at La Grave field next Sunday?? I really enjoyed watching you blitz all of us out at MW last year!

Have a good one,

I tried out the new Hoosier slicks and I like it a lot.

On my first session with the slicks I was just tip toeing a bit to get used to the tires. I was immediately within range of my best times using the trusted A6 tires.

Immediately I noticed that they had great feedback to the driver so you can definitely drive these tires harder. I lost a little bit of forward bite but I thikn the setup needs to get adjusted to get it back.

They also came out with a new size which will fit better on my wheels. The 305's that I tried were a little narrower than the 315's I had and almost an inch narrower than the 335's.

Check out the video of my first few laps with the slicks.

I had the wrong gear for the track and was trying to keep the rpm's somewhat low because I still don't have a dry sump nor do I have an Accusump for the car. I still spun a bearing though on the following day

I was planning on the SCCA event at Pennington Field on 4/19.

Good to hear they work decently and have good feedback. I hope I don't loose forward bite though. The rears are going to be taller than my current ones, so that should help, very close in size to the 315/345 setup I ran last year.

Awesome. Really looking forward to hearing how they do in comparison to the A6's.

Can't really tell from the pictures, but what sizes are they?
Also, what wheels will you be running them on?

305/645/18 front, 315/690/18 rear, will be mounted on 18x11.5 fronts, 18x12 rears for now. 18x12 and 18x13 if they need it later.

Just wondering if you ended up doing this, and if so how they compared?
