The "Ring of the Rockies" ....new 9+ mile track in Colorado
Not sure if anyone has heard of this, but the updates on the track design and layout for the Colorado Motorsports Country Club has been released.

WOW..what a track!!! I've driven the Nurburgring (recently, wish I had my C5 out there) ...and driving a 9 mile lap was pretty awesome. It would be nice to have something similar here in the states.

"Our track designer, Hermann Tilke is synonymous with
Formula 1 racetrack design in Europe and Asia."
WOW
"The racing resort, set amid 2,600 acres of breathtakingly scenic bluffs, canyons
and rolling hills will offer a grand, state-of-the-art clubhouse with generous
amenities for the entire family.
A limited collect ion of spacious home sites and luxury villas
will provide owners an exclusive retreat to share the experience
with friends, family and business associates.
And, while it is a world away from anything of its kind,
it is less than an hour from Denver, Colorado."

DAAANNNGG!!! That track looks amazing! Any word on when it's supposed to be started/finished? Is it approved to be built or is it still in the very early planning stages? That will be an awsome track if it gets built. Only thing looking at the pictures that I see could be a problem would be ample run off room but hopefully the expert designer is allowing enough. I like tracks like Mid America Motorplex a lot because of how much room they have. It is a great place to push the limits and test out the new improvements after a winter because if you mess up you only end up in a field and not in a steel guard rail. Anyway can't wait to see more pictures of this track if it starts to be built.

In the current economic situation, I'd love to see who'd fund a project as far fetch as this one. Business' can't even get credit to fund essential needs and they are going to build a "ring in the rockies".
Hey, but I guess that is what's great about American (for now).

I doubt it will happen. It took 3.7million just to get High Planes Raceway up and running...plus that proposed track looks out of reach even for my meager DDS budget

I'm heading out on friday PM to check it out.
Autobahn was $35K buy in when it started, this new place will be crazy!
