C6 Z06 track prep
I've got plans to take my car to a 2 day Thunderhill event in the summer heat (June) and need to prep the car.
For brakes I'm going to install Cobalt GTS pads and flush fluid out with Motul.
For tires I'm using the Michellin Pilot Sport Cup R compound
Harness bar & harness, helmet
tools for brake fluid flush, oil and torque wrench for lug nuts
maybe a camcorder
Driver: re-reading Speed Secrets by Ross Bently, watching You Tube videos on T-Hill events
What else do I need, I haven't seen any posts about the Z having problems with transmission, power steering or diff overheating so I guess those things are OK?
Please advise..

- appropriate wheel alignment
- helmet
- additional quart of oil in engine
- tape up front of car to taste
- zillions of tools.
Definitely get in-car video working, and test it thoroughly beforehand.
It is invaluable.

DON'T ADD OIL when tracking a C6 Z06
With the C6 Z06, you SHOULD NOT put in additional oil!!!
You actually should have LESS oil than normal. It should only be about 1/4 to 1/3 the way up the crosshatched area on the dipstick - at least below the hole at the 1/2 way point on the dipstick.
Too much oil blows into the intake messing up your filter. There's a pad glued in the intake, and if running too much oil and it gets into the intake, it can cause that pad to come loose and either flap around or come loose completely and clog up in the TB.

Good advice!!! The extra oil applies to the C5Z06, but not to the C6Z.
Been there, screwed up my air filter and loosened one of the hydrocarbon absorption pads.
