Default Grinding noise around corners at the track

I took the car to the track yesterday. I noticed it was making a grinding (maybe a rubbing) noise around corners. The track I went to, had a lot more hard right turns then left, but I also heard some light grinding noise on left turns.

I haven’t heard it on on-off ramps, but then again you’re not pushing as hard or compressing the springs as much. Although when I was going home after the track I made a couple of lane changes and I could hear the grinding noise when I was turning right.

Some info about the car, it’s a stock, 2003 C5Z06 with 34,000km on the clock. I’ve got Nitto NT555R2 275-17 (front) and 305-18 (rear)

Do you guys think it’s rubbing because of the wider tires or is it a wheel bearing?!

Wheel bearings.....drive your car & make some sharp left & right hand turns to load each side. You will hear sound with better focus doing this. I changed my rear wheel bearings two months ago after what sounds like the same issue. Once removed, turn them both by hand and you can feel that one is smoother than the other.

BTW, I have the same size tires.

When I was doing the sharp lane changes I could hear grinding noise when turning right.

Okay better call the dealership and have them replaced under the GMPP.

Thanks a lot Nemesis.

Do you change wheels a lot?

Could be the threads on the studs are shot.

Been there done that.

Nope not at all.

The tires have been removed 2 times since I've had the car (which is less than a year).
