There are numerous organizations in the DC area that run on Summit Point and VIR in Danville. The ones listed below offer a good bang for the buck with a lot of good classroom instruction and track time. 1) Northern Virginia Corvette club - http://www.nvcorvetteclub.com/ they have a Friday single day event coming up at Summit Point that would be great for you to test the waters. 2) Mazda Drivers - http://www.mazdadrivers.com/ they run a good show and have two events at VIR later this year. 3) Track Daze - https://www.trackdaze.com/ they also run on several different tracks 4) NASA - http://www.nasaracing.net/ they are oriented more towards the racer, but do have a good Drivers Education program and run several events in the area each year. PM me with any questions.

I like TrackDaze.com a lot. They put on a very safe and smartly run show. Always have had good instructors. I'll be running with them at Summit Point this month, New Jersey in Jun and back at Summit in July. Its all school, not club racing so it's a little different atmosphere than if you go to a NASA or SCCA event.

The Wash DC region SCCA runs some events at Summit Point: http://www.wdcr-scca.org I was particullarly impressed with their classroom sessions, some really good stuff.

NASA events tend to be more race oriented. Still fun and all but for learning I prefer the car clubs and groups like TrackDaze, its a little more relaxed and much smaller groups.

I've also had good experiences with Friday At The Track (FATT). This was my very first track event and I've been back several times since. I've always had really good instructors and BSR has been doing this for a long time so it's not like some clubs that may only do one or two events a year. http://www.summitpointfatt.com.

Also, NCM is having two-day events at VIR and NJMP - both of which are relatively close to G'burg (NJMP is ~3 hours and VIR ~5 hours). NCM always puts on really well run events as well - although sometime I wonder about some of the instructors (you know who you are)

If you sign-up for an event at Summit Point let me know and I'll try to come out as well and help any way I can. Be prepared to get hooked though. I started out last year wanting to attend one event just to meet some folks from the forum. It turned in to 6 events last year and this year looks to be at least as many

OK, Dan ...
I'm with the "other club" ... G-Burg Vettes ...
To repeat some of the above ...
Looked at your planned mods list.
If you decide that you're going to track it periodically, you will prolly have to move past stock pads and fluid.
Not sure how the A6 will deal with track sessions ... heat-wise.
Suggest FATT on the Summit Pt Main. on or before Jun 19.
Think about going down to VIR for a PrimeDrive session end of June - one track session, one classroom session, one ride with instructor - $75.oo
Do the NVCC Track Day Fri, Jul 10.
Check with the NCM on spaces avail for the NJMP HPDE Jul 20-21.
By the end of that you should have a sense of what you want to do track-wise and car-prep wise.
All the best ...
BTW ... you gonna be at Capitol tomorrow for the Drags? (I won't be there ... coming back from the NCCC National Meeting in St. Louis.
