Default Any one have this problem with Koni's Pics.

This bushing came out and now I can't get it back in all the way
I guess I need a press. Has this happen to your Koni, and if so
how do you stop it from happening again.

This is as far as I can get it in.

I have heard of this many times with Koni's, a new one will do that too. Do you want to put a spherical bearing in it?

Would that still be legal for SCCA SS class.

Had it happen several times with the 3013s on my SS car. Press it back in and weld a tab/plate on to keep it from coming out - or replace it with a spherical.

Shocks are free (up to DAs, but not beyond) so as long as you don't change any of the mounting points you should be OK.

Can you provide me with the inside diameter and length of the welded on tube? This is what I would replace it with using a flanged adapter to center the spherical bearing. Do you want to spend about $100 each though?

That is a nice set up, not sure I want to spend $100 on these
shocks. I will try and weld a plate first see if that works if
not will I guess $100 ea it is.

I don't blame you, that is why I have not put the adapter in the inventory!

Mine did that also. I sent them back to Koni. They sand blasted the inside of the eyes. That help keep the rubber from squeezing out.

I have always had a great experience when working with Koni's warranty dept.

I bought a set of used 3013 's and the bushing is pushed out quite a ways. The seller suggested that I either press them back in (seems to be quite difficult) or swap them to the opposite side of the car from the way he had them. I need to figure out which way this is. The part that bolts to the control arm stays stationary, which way does the shock usually walk? Towards the front or back of the car?

Actually looking at it again it seems obvious which way they were installed because the mount has to be at the correct angle to meet the control arm. If I were to switch them I Think I would have to rotate the mount 180 degrees.
