Default New cast iron ST2 muffler

Look at this new "muffler" that we are putting in the passenger side floorboard.

I think it might be a little heavy but it will compensate with more power.

It should quiet the car down but add to rear tire expense.

wow that's the total opposite of my ST2 philosophy....I'm all for around 2900lbs and 320hp! Cheap on brakes, tires, and everything else!

Should be fun though!

The new RAFT cast-iron radial muffler ought to be quite efficeint.........

I dont think the TCCC guys figured on wierd ST2 stuff like this when they inducted the ST2 rules into their format...

I had a feeling this was going to start happening. Looks like SCCA maybe the better ticket for some.

Nothing wrong with that. Just proves how many loopholes the rules makers leave open. It's been proven many times over, long before ST even existed, that nasa needs to sharpen up yet they don't. They always wait for something like this to happen, even if its pointed out long before, until they do something. With tunable EFI things get even more interesting.

It could just be a heater for the driver when competing in frigid climates...

A rules change was suggested and rejected and if Danny and James don't take advantage someone else will

If they are successful in making it work then it sure will keep a lot of T1 guys out. Some say creativity is part of racing.

Scary thing is James already has one of the fastest ST2 cars in the nation

OK... This was just a joke.. Danny and I are doing side exhaust mods to our cars so we can work on the areo more in the rear of the car. We thought it would be a gook joke to send a pic of a turbo in the hole where the real muffler is going.

It does go to show that there are some rules issues with ST2 that I am not a big fan of. I hate it that there is not a torque rule. Once someone starts to exploit that rule then we WILL get creative like this. Think big stroke 4.25" with some boost.

Others like the fact that T1 is somewhat of a locked down class (well maybe), I on the other hand like that ST2 is open. It's fun racing the car but it's also fun to work on the cars and do all of the mods that we do to see how they affect the way the car works.

I bought it. Now I'm bummed. I wanted to see how creative you guys were going to be to get it to hook up.

I personally don't think the results would have changed much. Jaymz and Danny still up front.....

And this means? I hope not what it sounds like. I'd say there is plenty of creativity in tightly controlled classes, what with pushing the rules and all. Much more so than just bolting a bunch of go fast stuff on for unlimited classes......

I've often wondered why nobody has made an effort to run a lower rpm/turbo combo for ST1 instead of having to build a big cube/high rpm grenade to keep up. It's all in the tuning to make it work....

What do you think it means? I'm assuming it means what it sounds like since I typed it.

BTW I don't consider cheating being creative
