EXACTLY WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR !!
I can finally toss Time-Warner Cable out on their ***. My HD reception quality has been a DISASTER, and T-W's customer service has got to be the worst in the industry. Even their own field technicians have admitted that their signal quality is pathetic, and it varies from channel to channel.
Now that DISH has SPEED HD, there's no reason to wait any longer.
Thanks for posting!

I dont think this has anything to do with this but Speed had no sound all day today. I recorded the Koni challenge on Speed HD today and there was no sound. I left it on Speed through the nastycar coverage afterward and I still had no sound.

Noticed it yesterday as well! I watched F1 qualifying in HD, WOW what a difference!
I've had DISH for almost 6 years now, I love it, and wish I had fired the cable company sooner.
I anyone wants a DISH refer-a-friend certificate just PM me. They give you the best deal they have going + you get free activation and a $30 credit! (yes, they give me $50 for referring you too! we all win!)

I don't think F1 is true HD, as most of Europe only has widescreen PAL.........basically DVD quality, as I understand it.
Still nice improvement over SD.......DirecTV has had it for a year or so.

BTW, Comedy Central and FX are both in HD too. Must have happened at the same time.

according to AVS forums, the F1 races are recorded in a wide screen format similar to DVD, but at a lower bit rate. It is then upconverted to 720p.
I agree it looks very good, but if you've watched any of the ALMS races in HD, it doesn't look like real HD.
GREAT race yesterday, btw.
