Default diesel trucks move on over to the right lane

22 Pounds of boost, E85, 418 stroker that we built about 27,000 miles ago when it had a 122 blower on it.

No numbers because this truck is AWD, and our dyno isn't AWD. Est at about 850+ horsepower. This truck sports the A6 transmission so it keeps up on the rpm a bit better

Out on the road This customer likes to play with the tuning himself. We get it pretty damn close and he fine tunes it. This is about the 3-4th different package on this truck and it's been working so far. With the old setup he could pull on a C6Z up to about 130mph. Then I think the wind starts to kill the MPH. This one should add some more power

I use a 2001 3500 dually 8.1 as my tow rig(got a smokin' deal on it a few years ago and I just couldn't justify the substantial cost of the Duromax in a vehicle used for only 4 months out of the year). My friends with diesels might pull a little better up long hills, but I argue that they have a turbo. Just imagine that 8.1 with a little blower like that one with just a small amount of boost! I never checked, but is there a kit for the 8.1??

WOW! Won't we actually need to move our rigs over to the *left* lane for him, so that he can make the off-ramps to get off and fill up with gas? He's gonna need it with that!

Don't worry he can jump start you in the winter.

We are gas fans around here. I just bought a gas tow rig again. We know every torque spec, have parts, have scan tools, and know the 4l80e. It would be pretty crazy for us to run anything different.

Last year Cal Club held 1/8 mile drags on Sat night at the road race events. I put out a challenge to race any rig that actually towed their race car there with my tow rig. It's just my wife's gas-powered F150.

Very cool, my Silverado 2500 HD with the 6.0L is a dog pulling my trailer.

Really? We tow at 80-90 MPH all the time with our enclosed. My open trailer has about a speed limit of about 78MPH after that it starts jumping around. New tires next week should help.

What gear do you have?

Cool truck but I'll take my duramax any day when towing long distances. Been to Houston twice and VIR twice. Both trips about 1200 miles one way hauling a two car enclosed trailer with two cars, tools and tires.

How is that thing as a tow rig? I considered it for a while knowing that I would tow with it, but decided that getting a 3/4 ton would be better in the long run when I start driving all over the place. Now I have a duramax.

yes two vettes fit. I have had mine and Randy's C5 in there. Mine and my my wifes 427 Edition. Mine and Doug's vintage. Mine and a 996TT. Mine and a 996 Cup Car. Fairly tight fit but it does work. No room left on floor for anything though. Everything has to be stored in upper area of goose neck.

You going back to MAM or to BIR?

Think I will stay with my oil burner. It makes 730 ft torque and it gets 640 miles per tank. I remeber the ol days with a gas dually going through WVA, 15 mph, windows down, temp gauge pegged. Now you don't even know your going up the hills, except to wipe the frost off the windshield so I don't rear end anyone. Randy have fun with your gas truck.
