Default Road Atlanta HPDE ?s

Did some searching and found as much info as I could but still have a few questions.

How long does it normally take to get through registration and tech? In other words when do I need to be there to get through and make it to the morning meeting?

Do you just pick a spot to unload all of your stuff within the HPDE zone before going through tech in the morning?

What is the best way to get my wife a ride in someone's car? Note - she may cry and/or jump out of the car.

Are you talking about this weekend's event with NASA?

I would get there shortly after the gates open.

If you can find a spot. Since they are using both pits, it isn't as bad as when they only have one side. That is HELL.

Just ask any instructor. Jason is fairly pleasant.

I usually unload and then go thru tech. As for Rd Atl, I like to park over by the trees in the shade, because it can get hot with all that pavement around.

The passenger thing I am still confused about. When I am there with Chin, I have passengers. But not sure about NASA. At Lowe's, my first NASA HPDE, it said no passengers. But my last session, the lady at the grid asked if I minded taking a passenger and she said I was allowed, so I am not sure about the passenger thing. Anyone know what the policies are? My 18 yr old son wants to come along for a ride.

Look me up - I will be there in a red Z06, #24!

Not this time. I still haven't touched my car to fix what was making it die on the track in June (Opti issues) and I need to get new tires. Running on these old tires in TT with you guys doesn't make any sense.

I may look for an event in October.

Just find us - one of us can give her a ride. Shoot she may not get scarred in my Mustang (its only a V6). I'm looking to run a 1:5x this weekend now that I have a bunch of little issues resolved from my last time out.

Look for the bright yellow Mustang with all the corvettes around it.

Jeff - are you getting there Thursday? Setting up on the TT or race side of the track?
I'll be there Friday AM, have to go to the high school Thursday night with the step-son.

Johnny, instructors can take passengers out in any HPDE group except TT. As long as they're 18, sign the waivers/wear the armband, and have longpants and closed toed shoe, and a helmet.

Thanks for all the replies. I am going to start talking her into today. I don't think she has an appreciation for what these cars can do, and after that my driving will look tame.

Cool. He would probably enjoy it more with someone else.

Thanks.
