That's 2PM Central time start then...correct? I am going to have a party with a few buddies to cheer the C6R's to 1st and 2nd and just want to make sure we catch every minute of the race. Can't wait to see their second race after watching their first one.

glad there will be a few more cars this week. I'm amazed there were only 2 Porsches last week......... Hopefull a sign of the times, not a sign of the end of ALMS. If it weren't for the GT3 cars, it would have seemed barren

Yea, I strongly believe they should take the GT Challenge class and for a full GT3 class just like the FIA GT did.
The FIA GT3 class was popular right out of the gate but now it is VERY popular after just 2-3 years.
If the ALMS formed a GT3 class I think it could become the most popular class in the series.

Today (Friday) is the first Test Day
Check the live timing and scoring for the lap times.

Pit Strategy will be huge at this track. I was listening to Radio Le Mans during testing today and they timed one of the cars from Pit Entrance to the Start/Finish Line was 15 seconds!
Thats not including the pit stop and the trip from the box to the track entrance!
An extra stop could totally break your chances here.

Durring the early Saturday Morning Practice, the top 7 GT2 cars were all within 0.4 seconds of eachother!

Very cool cars and of course I'll record the race, but holy cow - the turnout is hard to even look at. 26 cars will not be very exciting to watch spread out over a 4-mile course. Too bad.

No Body Roll?
Heavy or soft springs ? Lots or little neg camber ? Combination?
I though someone mentioned a while ago the Corvettes when in GT1 used soft springs( relative) for the most part to keep the rubber on the pavement and little neg camber, also to keep the rubber on the pavement.

I just got back from the race, great time. They let you walk right by the cars while they were lined up on the track for about 30 minutes before the start. David Hobbs was there and I could over hear the C6R crew chief explaining the differences of GT1 & GT2 to David. It was pretty cool to be able to walk right by the cars "and hang out" on the track before the start. Then we stood right behind the Corvette teams pit to watch the start on the teams monitors. There is a short fence, but you were only 20 feet from the crew chief. Now I'm going to watch the race on the DVR to sell all of the other on track action I missed. At least at the end we got to see the #3 car bump the Flying Lizard into the dirt to take third position a few laps from the end!

That was the best pass I have ever seen! Once that Porsche got two wheels into the dirt, Johnny O. moved over next to him, and there was no way he was going to let him back on! That one single move got him onto the podium. Absulutely magnificent to see!!
