Recommendation for camera mount (possibly camera) for C6Z tracking
I'm wondering what inexpensive options are out there for mounting a camera to a C6Z. I currently have a camcorder which I used on my 335 for a couple years. It was attached to a mount which grabbed the headrest. The result was a very steady picture.
With the Z, I made a custom bar that mounted to the lift cylinders on the rear glass. Let me tell you...that is NOT a good way to mount a camera . It shakes even at idle. On the straights its not even watchable and eventually turns itself off.
Come Sept 10th at VIR, I'd like to actually capture some of the laps for once in this car. So what do you all think

Not sure if these will work for you but I used a suction mount from chasecam.com for awhile. I stuck it to the roof and it worked well. After that I made a mount from plastic decking material for nothing. Here it is on my harness bar.

So far we have a roll-bar mount and harness-bar mount. I have neither right now
Suction cups scare me but arent out of the question. I'll check out the chasecam mount. What about these suckers? http://www.stickypod.com/osc/product...products_id=55

But you could make a bar like that just to put a camera on. It could be very light/easy to make since it won't be used for a harness. That would comply with many clubs tech rules to have the camera hard mounted.

I've used the GoPro Hero Wide and didn't care short battery life & the mic is prone to RF interference. I now use the VholdR Contour HD and really like it a lot.

I used a radar detector mount and adapted it for a camera. It's a C5 but I am sure you could figure something out. You could probably drill a hole in this thing and mount it. I would look at the mirror mounts too to see if they will work. I almost decided to mount mine upside down if I had to and use Windows Movie Maker to turn it right side up.

Here is a video showing what mine looks like and the vibration.

Keep in mind, I am still leaning towards just a mount since I already have a nice camera, but I'm open to other options as well.
Thanks~

WORST WORST WORST camera ever.
I have one and I won't even give it away because I don't want to subject anyone to such a crappy POS. In fact, I think I'll go throw in it the garbage.
Personally I love my Kodak ZX1 HD pocket cam. Cheap, and does good video and half decent sound. I have it mounted with one of these currently which isn't perfect, but works. If I had a harness bar I would mount it to that with a better mount, but as it is, I have to mount it on the rear window on a certain angle so it can sit vertically.

What mount do you have shown there? Gotta link?
Either my POS computer is making your video look jumpy, or you really did jump the greenlight on the first time out. Have you taken any highspeed shots with that mount on a track? I'm going to be doing 160mph+
