Default Alternator Issues...any better replacement than oem unit?

Noticed on DIC that voltage was varying between 11.2v-12.6v. A few days later my new battery was dead. Jumped started and drove to Auto Zone for their free system check. Was told that my amperage was 30 but ideally should be around 90 amps while idling. I'm no expert so I'm here asking your advice. I generally hate to make a lateral move unless it is the best move, so keeping that thought in mind here is my question: is there a better alternator for my 2002 ZO6 than the oem replacement (rebuilt from AutoZone or other). Should I spend money on a new/used Delco replacement? OR, is there an aftermarket unit that holds up better to heat & high rpm?

Below is a link to a thread in C6Z section that I found using search. It caught my attention because it references C6Z alt failures (just a few) due to what I mentioned above.

Thanks for reading and any advice you can share
