Anyone using the Schroth harness in their C6?
I found a Hardbar and replacement panels for my C6. Was looking at running a few Porsche club events, but in order to run their HPDE's they require racing seats or using factory seatbelts. They do allow for Schroth harnesses.
Anyone here using them? Installation of the lap belt a PITA or what?

I ran Schroth in my Z06 and still do in both my track cars.
I'm confused on what you mean by, "They do allow for Schroth harnesses." With a stock seat?

I am going to attend a PCA event. Here is what they say in the tech form. Unless I am mistaken, if you dont use the sub belt, rendering it a 4 point harness you should be able to use your stock seat which is what I was hoping to do as I dont have racing seats.
SEAT BELTS: Standard, OE belts are acceptable.
Must not be frayed. 65-68 900 series require
modification. Equal restraints – both occupants must
have the same level of equipment. Harnesses: All 5/6
point harnesses must be used with "racing seats"
equipped by the manufacturer with belt routing holes for
the shoulder, lap and submarine straps. No add-on or
"home made" modifications of any type to these seats
will be accepted.
Harnesses: Schroth Quick Fit, Schroth Rallye, and Schroth
AutoControl four (4) point harnesses for use in BMW,
MINI, Audi, VW & Subaru WRX, conforming to the
Schroth installation guidelines is acceptable. A 4-point
harness is not acceptable for Porsche manufactured vehicles
because no provision for shoulder belt routing is available
for single piece seat backs used by Porsche. Only vehicles
on the Schroth vehicle reference list can install Quick Fit
four point harnesses.

PCA will NOT allow the use of 5 point harnesses without a race seat. Period. They do allow the use of the Schroth 4 Point harness as it is DOT legal (the only harness to be so classified).
Schroth makes the harness fit into the factory locking mechanism on the inside of the driver/passenger. But, like always, they don't make one to fit the factory harness on a Corvette.
If and when I do get to attend a PCA event, I guess I am going to pull the seat forward, latch the factory three point into the buckle (behind the seat) and use a GForce five point without the sub belt. Since it is only on a airfield with nothing to hit, there is little chance of me submarining into anything except the ocean. Maybe that'll fly with the local Tech Inspectors.

Schroth 4 point belts are designed to prevent anti-submarining. I'd use them before a 5 point any day. Have you ever seen photos of 5 point belt trauma?
