Default F/S Wilwood 140-8031 front big brake kit upgrade for C5

I bought this from another forum member but never installed...decided not to upgrade now and force a class change...still wrapped in original boxes. From all I've read on the Wilwood website, this kit should bolt on to 1997-2004 c5 with no problems.

Kit 140-8031:
Superlite 6 Big Brake Kit is engineered for use in conjunction with OE front hubs: Billet Superlite 6 piston calipers-RED, PolyMatrix brake pads, machined aluminum hats, 13.06" diameter directional vane rotors.

Wilwood exemplifys award winning style and provides the ultimate in Big Brake stopping power. Born from Wilwood's 25 year tradition of building championship brake systems, SL6 Big Brake kits are the perfect compliment to wheel, tire, and suspension equipment upgrades.

Kit retails for $2000.00 - asking $1550.00 plus shipping (likely around $50). paypal accepted, but will add 3% to cover their fees

FWIW, it should also fit C6s, but would need different brake lines, if I'm remembering correction.

That is a heck of a deal! Unfortunately, I bought mine last year with a group purchase for a little more money and I had to accept the black caliper color and with NO rotors.....

Somebody ought to jump on this since you will find the mushy brake pedal eliminated with this setup. Atleast I did.....YMMV.....

Also, the pads are much thicker and work very well. Hawk makes them too but just not quite as thick as wilwood but still much thicker than OEM C5 caliper pads....

Good luck on the sale....should be a win/win situation.......

Will these fit under 17" CCW Classic T1 wheels? These would work great when running ST2 NASA and then switch back to stock stuff for
T1 SCCA races.

Hey, Aaron,

I run 18's front and rear so I'm not certain about that, but I read on the Wilwood website that this kit installs on C5 OE equipment... I would assume that means stock size fronts...

If they are the 13" version they will fit under 17" stock Z06 wheels.

Glad to help. I had the 13" version on my car and the stock Z06 rims fit fine in both the front and rear.

The Wilwood 13" package is a great package for guys who don't want the extra cost of going with new rims for big brake caliper set-ups.

That is a very good deal, especially for the red ones. You can get pads for these in everything from the BP-10 street pads to the full race H compound pads. If I thought it would fit my wife's new CTS-4 I would buy them, 'cause you all know how much I love the stock slide rail brakes! It would make a really good instructor car
