Default 1 quart over

Is it a general rule that all C5 and C6 excluding the C6 Z06 run 1 quart over at a course like VIR?

in my 2002 z06 manual I think it states you should run 1 qt over for road course work or something like that.. it also mention it in the video i think..

best bet is to check your manual!

I always ran the extra quart in my C5s. For both road courses and autocrossing.

Even before installing an Accusump I never used a full quart extra in my modified C6...about 1/2 quart extra is all I'd use. I might be tempted to use a bit more if the course has any extended, banked ovals.

There have been several posts in this forum that recommended against running a full extra quart of oil in a C6.

Apparently, the posters found a large amount of oil in the air filter and intake areas after a weekend of track sessions. How much gets barfed up through the EGR or PCV systems may vary based on the characteristics of the particular track you go to, and how hard you drive on-track.

Installing one (or two) catch cans would be an option to safeguard against that issue, of course. You'd also want to monitor your oil pressure closely if you decide to run the extra quart - make sure it doesn't have an unusual effect on the overall pressure, or damage the oil pump (... that would be bad ).

I added a half quart before the last track day and everything worked great "Gateway International" but now I have a check oil light on. Is there a way to reset that?
