C5 Bushings? What do you get?
What is everyone doing when the bushings on the upper and lower arms go? OEM? Aftermarket? Who's do you use?
Experiences with them after?
thanks

I'd wait til next spring if I were you. Some interesting stuff coming up, sorry I can't say more.
BTW I have the VB&P bushing setup, and it sucks. The pfadt unit isn't sufficiently different to be much better. I was going to build my own setup on my lathe this winter, until I heard a rumor of this new setup. Again, sorry I provide more info.

anyone else? i cant imagine with the number of failures that the control arm bushings have that there isn't some consensus of which to use!??!?! You can't all just be wasting tiem and effort on OEMs?!

I have heard rumors that something new is coming down the pipeline as well.
Poly requires some pretty regular maintenance to perform consistently and stay bind (and noise) free. Stock bushings deflect and can be pushed out of shape or out of position under heavy loads generated by wide/sticky tires.
Very large thread on this in this section, something along the lines of "VBP vs pfadt bushings". Lot of good information and opinion/experience in there.
I am personally waiting to see what happens over the next couple of months.

never heard about outright "failures". the rubber ones get gradually pushed out to the side, the poly ones need maintainance. either way, there is no "put on and forget" solution that I know of.

I have the Pfadt's and I would agree, not a significant difference between any of the existing systems out there! I lubed the crap out of them when installing and they were fine for 3 - 5 months, then the noise started. Cold is worse. BUT, even worse than that is after more time, if you don't take them out and clean and completely relube them they start to get tight and create a TON of friction and then the suspension dosn't work well. Right now if I disconnect my coilover and mount a wheel (w/o the tire) and push the suspension up, it will stay in place! Way to much friction.
I have been toying with a spherical bearing setup but I don't like the high cost!
Agree Wait for the NEW Solution that one of the vendors is coming out with. May not even have to wait for spring
