Default External brake Prop valve acting like a line lock?

Anyone with experience using an external prop valve have any ideas on this? I have a Tilton external prop valve on my rears (no internal prop valve on my aftermarket master). It's been working great for years. I decided to increase pressure to the rears (turn the screw clockwise) just playing around with the balance. When I drove around, the rear brakes wouldn't release. Only when I unscrewed the valve nearly all the way would they finally release.

Any clue why?

Thanks!
