2010 Corvette Challenge Series...
Well, there is always so much talk, so lets do it.
Here is what rumor has so far..
Intended for C5 and C6's...
Basically paralell T-1 rules with some changes. Nothing written in stone yet...
But, no engine development expense. All cars will be whistled for CR, huffed for displacement and have cam lift checked at every race. And rear wheel hp verified on chassis dyno..
Suspension, opened to coil overs..
Update and backdate all c5's and C6's to LS3.
Weights to be determined...
Brakes can update to 2010 grand sports...
Three tracks so far in the northeast. Could spread down the east coast depending on interest...
Limited to 40 drivers...

We have the 2009 Cal Club (SCCA) Corvette Challenge by Speed Ventures series we started here in So. California in March. We have had about 25 cars per event and about 35 different drivers over the four of six events.
This is a time trial series right now, but I would be interested in adopting your wheel to wheel racing rules for a west coast series if you are willing to share. For us I would like to keep the rules simple. Dynos at the track seems to make it complicated and expensive.

Would a ST2 car be legal? Aero? I could be interested, is this something like TCC where you just run within SCCA & NASA or is it going to be a New Class altogether?
How about a HP/ft lb rule so any LS can be run
either way may car is probably to far gone for this anyways

Right now it seems like T1 is 8.2-8.3 to 1 which makes the LS3 cars a bit on the pigish side. Make the power to weight right around 7.7 to 1 so the LS3's can weight in around 3300 and let the other cars add power to match.
With the reliability issues with the LS3 I can see a lot of people wishing they could just mod a LS6/2.
3500 lbs 455 whp
3400 lbs 440 whp
3300 lbs 430 whp
3200 lbs 425 whp
3100 lbs 402 whp
Those numbers sound good to me
What governing body would be putting this on SCCA, NASA, TCC?
Opening up the brake option to any BBK would make sence too. 14" rotors no carbon, because really the performace of the BBK's are all going to be pretty much similar. But if we don't want to allow BBK's at least allow 2 piece rotors to save cost, no one wants to replace rotors everyday like we have to in T1 now.
Just my opinions on the idea. Feel free to flame away!

Could be interesting - but I would make it so the cars can run in other classes out there now. This kind of ties in with a discussion I started by asking if a C5 could win the runoffs...
I do not know enough about TCC, but isn't that what that what you're talking about? I know that series has been around for a long time here in the Midwest.
