You can still run them with spacers/adapters if you wish.

c5 guys - who is running these c4 zr1 style wheels. i would like to hear some experiences. I saw a pic on Phoenix's web site and think they look good - assume the car would have to be lowered which I'm planning on.

I bought a '03 z and the wheels are crap. like the idea of same config at each corner but not sure I want to go 17".

also who if anyone knows what these weigh in relation to stock c5z wheels?

your 03Z wheels are crap because they are in bad shape, or you don't like the style/looks, or??

The *OEM* 17x11 GS wheels are reasonably light, but still heavier than the 02-04 Speedline 18x10.5. Most replica's of either are much heavier.

For their size (17x9.5 and 18x10.5) the 02-04 C5Z wheels are very very light, lighter than almost any aftermarket wheel of the same size, at any price.

they were painted black - and the paint is bubbling and peeling off - and underneath the wheels look kind of scraped up. I have a few goals in mind - a decent looking set of street wheels and a second set for the track. I have not decided what to do with these - if I strip the paint off I may not want to keep them anyway depending on their condition.

where would one buy OEM z06 wheels - can they be bought direct from GM?

strip the paint (or leave it) and use those for the track. who cares what they look like, they'll have 1/4" of race brake dust on them every weekend

find some used mint (plenty of them for sale) C5Z wheels in the classifieds for your streets. I have bought a few sets that looked like they just came out of the box.

from GM they would be $$

These reproduction wheels are a bit heavier than some other options, but they are great for the cost. Perfect for someone starting out.

I have 4 sets of 02-04 C5z wheels & they are by far the best bang for the buck wheel so far as looks/strength/price/weight that I have owned.

You got that right. I pulled the motorsport wheels of the FRC this weekend for the first time and nearly gave myself a hernia in the process. I couldn't believe how friggin heavy those things were. I swear they feel almost twice as heavy as my speedlines.

we've got some 'ole chinese lead/alum alloy 5 spoke something or others for our lemons car this weekend. 16x7 with 225/50/16 rubber on them. that much smaller/skinnier and 6 lbs heavier per (!) than our massively larger C5Z 295/30/18 hoosiers on 02+ speedlines

You need to enter one of those "How much does this fat lady weigh" contest at the fair. You'd put those guys out of business fast.

Do you carry around a tiny pocket scale or something?
