Default Just how functional are OE rear brake ducts on a C5Z?

One of the previous owners hastily put these on my FRC and my 315 Hoosiers are hitting them. I can't imagine that they really do a whole lot of good so I was just going to ****** them off. But before I do, I'll ask if they really move enough air to try to make them work.?

Not really. Better place for trans and diff coolers.

I've never considered them functional, and since the rear brakes only do 25-30% of the work, I'm not sure you really want to cooled too much.

Or even oil cooler - move some weight back to that ever-light right-rear corner. Blowing air into the wheel wells does little to nothing for brake cooling.

Thanks guys. That's pretty much what I figured, but I always like to ask the experts.
