Default Where to stay at the Glen?

I have been staying in Corning at the Radisson for the past few years and was thinking of staying a bit closer to the track for my next trip. Any suggestions for a decent place to stay in Watkins Glen?

depending on your budget, the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel was very new, clean, and nice, not to mention close (5.1 miles) although bring your wallet because the rates are not cheap. I believe harbor view are more expensive than those which view downtown Watkins

I recommend the Falls Motel (www.fallsmotel.com), 239 N. Genesee St. Montour Falls, NY, 607-535-7262. I have stayed there several times and like it. Very clean. Keep their business card in my folder on tracks land that is the first place I call.

Seneca Lodge is a popular place, but very old and phones were not in all rooms. But a good place to eat.

Good luck,
Ed

Falls Inn, without a doubt. Not fancy, but clean and comfortable and 15 minutes from the track. They have a bar/restaurant and there are other restaurants nearby (not great but good enough). You will meet a lot of track guys there.

If it is a trackmasters event, the Falls is the place to stay. If not, then I always stay in Corning - typically at the Fairfield.

Stayed there once and it was near the track in town but there was NO door on the bathroom or full height wall. Could be rough with a new date or if you ate the wrong food the few previous days:o

I stay at the Falls 2 or 3 times a year. Great people!
