what sizes for R6 on C5Z wheels
the only combo I can think of is
275/40ZR17 F
295/30ZR18 R
if my math is correct, this makes front and rear tire almost the same diameter, would this interfere with ABS operation considering that there is almost an inch difference in the stock tire front/rear diameter?

Don't rely on your math, check out the specs on the hoosier website . Sometimes they don't follow the conventional dimensions.

I have found that as long as the front and rear diameters are the same or bigger in back, you will be fine. It shouldn't affect your ABS.

Any rubbing issues?? Do the fronts clear DRM/Quantum type brake cooling hoses?
thx- Dan

according to hoosier, 295f/315r will have about half an inch larger diameter in the back, while the combo i mentioned originally will have smaller diameter in the rear (although not by much).
i have never heard of anyone running 295 tire on the front C5Z wheels... but this may be the way to go if people tried it and it works.
don't care about AH

I have had the 18" rear on the front with a 315/35 and it will rub at full lock, but did not do any fender clearance work On a track you might just load things up enough to make that happen however, so do your own checking.
Most autox guys run it 1 of 3 ways, either 18x10.5 rear rim in front with a 315/30 on it and 335/30/17 rear (CCW usually), factory setup with 295/35/17 and 315/3x/18, or do 17x11's with 315/335 combo.
From reading here, I would say most track guys that run factory rims run 295's square if doing TT's etc, or 295/315's for normal HPDE work.

I run 315x18 square. They fit just fine on factory 10.5's. For simplicity I keep all my setups square...then I don't have to screw with alignment, rake, etc.
With the DRM ducts all tire/wheel combos, even stock, will rub at full lock. I impose a one rotation limit on myself; with that my 315's on my 18x11 CCW's do not hit anything up front.
I use 18" C5Z wheels on all corners for my spare slicks and rains.
No active handling or ABS issues with these setups.
I used to run the T1 setup with 315's on all corners, rear wheels were 17x11 and fronts 17x10. This did squeeze the fronts and was not ideal, but it worked well. I would not try squeezing that much meat on a 17x9.5.

I've used 315/18's in the front on CCW wheels. You need to position the coolers just right and even with that I put a couple layers on Gator tape so it rubs through that instead of the DRM tube. Just replace the tape every event.

wow, you're giving me more thoughts, I have a set of oe magnesium rims that came on my car stock, the tires are spent. Did the tires look/act funny being squezzed on the narrower non-z06 rims? thanks- Dan

No problems. I had them on thin-spokes before that. I looked around until I found 2 more 18" magnesiums since it's alot easier to find scrubs in 18". I do more autox than track days, and unsprung weight is so critical. Those magnesiums are REAL LIGHT. Ed

i consulted the owner of a local race shop regarding the situation, after reviewing what is available, he recommended 295/315 combo for C5Z wheels as well, thanks all!
