best front location for accusump
I am thinking I want to protect my '08 C6 engine from potential oil starvation by installing an accusump in my engine campartment. Anyone move their battery to the rear and have enough room up front to put in an accumsump in its place? Am hoping I might be able to fit a 3 quart unit there. For the past year and a half I have been spending time on Thunderhill and Infineon. Anyone out there hear about damage to their C6 engine without a dry sump or accusump?

I put my Accusump under the left front fender and plumbed both the air gauge and the air valve into the engine bay. That way, I can monitor its pressure and recharge the system without having to remove the fender. IMO if you run with sticky tires and especially if you run on tracks with extended banked curves an Accusump is cheap insurance.

Sounds like you did think this Accusump is not doing the job?
Can I ask why?

Yours is the white one right? Is this a manual?
Where do you track? Do you think this installation is adequate to keep oil circulation going?
Can I also ask how or where you routed your lines?

Car is orange. I mostly drive Putnam Park, Mid Ohio, VIR and various parking lots around the Nati. Lot's of good debate whether anything short of a dry sump is meaningful. Truth is illusive because valid data exists on both sides. However for me an accusump was within my budget which was the determining factor at the time. On the tracks I run I do see greater than 1.2g left hand turns which is the identified triggering event for oil starvation and subsequent detonation. The spring on my oil pump was shimmed at the same time to increase pressure and I use the 35/40 EPS valve. PM "Raftracer" on this forum and he can give you the installation details as he did the work on my car. Good Luck!

Sure sounds like a lot of people start w/ a sump and then go to a dry sump.
What is the limitations of an accusump?
Is it worth putting in?

A true dry-sump is the best solution, no doubt. However, you're talking about an order of magnitude difference in cost (several thousands for the dry sump, several hundred for the Accusump). It all depends on what your long-term plans are, how much you track, if the motor needs to come out anyway (as is the case on my car) etc.

Isn't your windshield reservoir on the driver side?
No room unless I take this out . Is that what you did? Then where did you put the water reservoir?

Mine is mounted on the front right by the battery. On passenger side front quarter panel, moved PCM into quarter panel area, mounted 3 quart accumulator next to battery tray which requires some cutting to fit of the battery tray or move the battery to the back of the car.
