Default Invos on the track - anyone find the sweetspot

Hi all

I will be using 345 x 30 Nitto Invos at the track for the first time this week

Previously I used Michelins and got them working good at 36psi Hot

Anyone any experience with the Invos?

John

I ran them for two days at VIR at the end of June. I ran them at 34 psi hot. They are a decent tire - not great but decent. They give more feedback than GY runflats.

I thought they worked darned good for street tires considering their cost. They lasted through the session until you started leaning on them pretty hard. Then they did what we expected. They let you know when they have been over-driven.

Graham -

How are things? Thanks again for all the help at VIR. I really do have a lot to learn and need plenty more seat time.

Yes - the invos did let you know when you were starting to over-drive them. I felt they had a much more controllable slide to them than the runflats. The runflats seem to hold then just let loose. You can see the wear on the outer edges of all 4 tires from those two days at VIR. All in all a decent tire for an HPDE day that you can drive there on and back home.

Hey Eric,

Things are ok. 1 more play session at the track then I'm done for the year.

I liked the Invos. Since I have 19" street CCW wheels I'll end up getting those for them. I think they would make good rain tires on track. I think the C5 Z06 Supercars have better grip. They're a non-runflat so that might be part of it. For someone who has to commute to the track and drive street tires. The Invos are not a bad choice given you can run them wet and dry and the price is reasonable (all things considered).

Were you data logging? If so - what lateral g could you get from them?

Did you note the hot/cold temps you found best

Thanks again

No data aq in my car - something that is going to change.

I kept a notebook at the track of the air temps, tire pressure and fluid temps. Let me look and make sure I still have it. I did not have a pyrometer with me so I did not take temps.
