Default Another trailer question, what brands to pick/avoid

Bear with me on the never ending questions.

I'm on a tight budget (imagine that!)

I'm actively searching for a used 24' bumper pull 10k gvwr trailer.
Other than Pace & Haulmark, what other brands are in the same quality class as these? (or acceptable) I see a lot of brands that I have no knowlege of. Or what brands should I specifically avoid as being cheap copies?

thanks again guys.

I have had both a Hallmark and a GT Pace so I can only speak to those two manufacturers. The Pace is a Mercedes and the Hallmark is a Toyota. My Pace is a 28' and tows great the Hallmark was a 24' and didn't even come with the right wheels when I ordered it from the factory. Pace will have better resale value. Be sure you get the HD axels if you are hauling a heavy car. I am a firm believer in load levelor and anti-sway bars.

Yeah, I've been searching every day. After you filter for 1000miles/10k gvrw/used and Pace or Haulmark it leaves little. 3/4 of the ones I call about are sold. The rest just not right.
Thanks for the link though.

"The Pace is a Mercedes and the Hallmark is a Toyota" good to know, thanks.

Any other suggestions?

I always thought Hallmarks were good trailers. I would have no problem buying a Hallmark.

have seen some Optima trailers, not too good, Think they were bough out by or taken over by Pace

Some Millinium alum. seem to be OK but expesive

Wells Cargo, race car haulers. sturdy
Continental Cargo race haulers. Again sturdy.

Outlaw - no nothing about
Trail master - seem to be very cheap. Wonder about construction

Hopefully all the wall studs are 16" on center.

There are a lot of good trailers out there. And many of the local manufactures offer a great value. One suggestion I do have, is to get Torsion axels and at least 5000# capacity per axel. Also a smooth skin is better, because the screws loosen up on the trailers that have the aluminum skin screwed on. JD

More good info. Thanks for the posts.
Not much to choose from here, so I'm spending a lot of time on the Internet.

Had united Expressline for a while, good trailer
Just sold my Haulmark, good for the money but lower quality and on it's weight limit with 3500 Lb axles. It pulled like a pig in the wind, the flat front is like pulling a parachute.
Just ordered a ATC with a bullet nose, looking forward to the lighter weight, easier pulling and better payload.
Watch if you get a trailer with the larger axles, the empty trailer weight really shoots up to be strong enough to carry the weight.

Good Luck

I have a 22' Vintage "Outlaw". The trailer has 5000lb axles and pulls very well. The fit and finish of the interior and exterior is very nice. I am happy with the set-up, give Vintage a look.......
