Default European FIA GT Racing Round7 (pics inside)

Sunday October 4th i took my Z to the racetrack to go and watch the FIA GT Race at the Paul Ricard race track.

The Corvette is verry impressive, and the sound is just wonderfull. The maserati is a verry strong car as well, it makes almost an F1 sound and is competing well in the GT1 series against the Corvette who seems to be more powerfull when exiting corners.

The Z06's and C6R have dominated the race and the Brazillian/Belgian team took the victory before the maserati MC12. The Leading corvette ran on 7 cilinders and lost some valuable points but then again the next round at Zolder (Belgium) round 8 of 8 will be verry interesting to follow. The battle between Corvette / Maserati.

just tought you'd enjoy seing some pics from across the pond

Now THAT is COOL!

For a race track, amazing to see how clean everything is. No trash anywhere. Looks like you could sit and eat off the asphalt.

Did you make it to Zolder? I planned on going, but my Z06 is still in a container enroute to Rotterdam. Maybe see you next year!

It really is that clean, owned by Bernie Eckelstone and a training ground for many F1 teams.
Its a wonderful track, i got the pleasure of testing it in 2004, right after it was totally upgraded. what a blast.

No i diden't go to Zolder, i'll definately be back in Paul Ricard, maybe Spa and Zolder. (I am Belgian and spend a lot of time on those race tracks)

What is your corvette doing in a container to rotterdam? It should be sitting on your driveway

I'm glad you like the pictures guys.

During the last race in zolder the 'Ridley bikes Corvette' of hezemans and Kumpen finished second after the Bernoldi Maserati MC12.

Maserati took the championship title in GT1 and corvette finished second.

.... if the ridley corvette diden't have a spark plug failure the previous round at Paul Ricard there was a faire change it would have won the championship. There were only 2 points difference between nr1 and nr2!
