I bought a set of Penskes last year and I'm not happy with the valving or spring rates they came with. I have gone through a few sets of dual spring set ups and have even got rid of the dual springs and went to a single spring trying to get the right feel. Im on the fence right now whether to send the Penskes out to get re-valved or get these and just see if someone else wants the Penskes with a bunch of springs. I didnt think I needed adjustable, but now Im gun shy to get anything but.
This is such a wicked deal.

Havent revalved them at all ... yet. They went on the car as they were sent and I was bouncing all over, not a good feel at all, been trying softer spring rates which have helped but still need the rebound adjusted. I opted for Penskes because I wanted what I thought was the best shock/coilover but I couldnt afford the fully adjustable so I went with the 8200's as I figured I could add the canisters later on.
I didnt have them revalved all season because I didnt want that downtime of removing..shipping out..waiting for them to get done..shipping back and reinstallation. Sorry for the minor hijack, but this is why I'm looking at the LG adjustables now, because I cant afford the downtime to get the settings right.

The remote reservoirs serve a couple purposes, not all of which is good. One is the ability to hold more capacity as far as fluid and pressure so it does not over heat the fluid. Another is space constraints if you can not have enough room for fluid and pressure in the shock itself you may have to run a remote for it.
The problem with them, is that they introduce hysteresis into the shock and they are not as consistent if you could do with out them, which is one of the HUGE improvements in the new Bilstein MDS shock and also one of the reasons for the GIANT price of the set of them.
We have found that there is more than enough room within the space of a C5/6 Corvette that there is no need for a remote canister.

How do the spring rates / wheel rates on these shocks compare to the factory C5 Z06 springs? My Z06 is mainly a track/hpde car, and this package is looking good for the price.
