c4 front sway endlinks - failures? pics?
Hi, I'm needing more front bar on a 91 ZR-1, and since I'm autocrossing on fat A6s it sounds like the front links are "at risk". I'm not in a position to jump on the only aftermarket alternative I've seen (Guldstrand), but might take a shot at reinforcing the stock ones before "it's too late".
I guess what I'm hoping is that either a) link failures are from potholes or berms, not extreme Gs - or - b) someone can post a pic of a failed front link and it shows the failure is in a mode that can be tweaked.
Thanks,
- Jeff

Stock links are plenty strong and I prefer the stock links over the aftermarket. There are other sources beside Guldstrand, but from what I remember, Gulstrands looks the strongest.

I'm running the stock end links and have not had or heard of any failures.
Its stamped metal so I guess it could eventually fail, I'd replace it with stock unless I was going with something adjustable.

I've heard other generation have failure issues, but not C4's
the rod end links are good from removing friction in the system though.
take the top bolt out out of the stock link and it will remain standing.

I dunno about that, you should see the links I've killed on other cars <g>.
Just looks like an "event ender" to me, and I'm not sure I want to start carrying a spare of the same thing.
Well I guess that's good to hear, but I'd swear it was on this very forum that I found the pattern of failure. Perhaps I'd best scare up my cites.
Thanks for the replies,
