Bunch of my friends were there today. I borrowed this pic from Steve's (Mosport1 here on the forum) facebook pics
Heinricy, making his first World Challenge start since a July race at Portland International Raceway in 2005, turned the fastest GTS lap of the race with a time of 1:30.763 (97.533 mph).
“This is really a testament to the Corvettes that Joe Aquilante and his team put together,” Heinricy said. “These are very stock cars but they make dynamite race cars. To run with the stock brakes with the help of Hawk pads and SKF with the wheel bearings really helped us out to make it through the race. Really, the opportunity was helped by Torvec and the isotorque differential I’ve been working with them on. I think the differential really helped keep the tires underneath the car today.
“The car was perfect the whole race. It really ran good.”

I'm a huge Heinricy fan.............BUT GTS truly is the joke we all knew it would be. All 3 of the other cars in the class have about the same displacement as the Vette.
Let's hope some money comes back into WC before it implodes.
31 cars total in 3 classes.......

Fellows is tough to beat at Mosport
Glad to hear that Heinricy won the other class. The cost of running in the Top GT Class is out of hand so the new GTS class should be the future of WOrld Challenge if they want to keep it alive.
Congratulations to Phoenix and to Ron.

What the heck was I thinking if LG thinks its out of hand. I just went into Nasa this past weekend more my financial speed.

NASA and SCCA racers are spending more than I spend in World Challenge GT from 2000-2003. All Carbon bodywork and Sequential Transmissions tripled the cost of entry and maintenance.
However, I disagree that GTS is the answer. Fans (I'm one) want cars that LOOK look race cars, not showroom-stockers. I love the splitters, wings, and engines that make GT cars great, but the exotic items have run away the privateers.
On another note, I really am a Heinricy fan. I frankly lost a lot of interest in the GM/P&M Vettes after they got rid of Heinricy/Kneifel etc and put in all of the foreign drivers.

From the SWC site it seems like the GTS cars are pretty much stock? What size of tire is JH running? Look like 315R18 x4?
