I can't believe this is actually happening. Two tracks within an hour of my house. Anybody know any inside info on completion time or other obstacles they might face?

I attended one of the "wine and dine" events AMP held last summer. The facility will be impressive when completed.

"When" being the key word here. I hope them all the best, but after the fiasco of High Rock (which is less than 45 minutes from my house) and the never-ending delays at Bluegrass, I have learned to not hold my breath on new tracks.

We had to cancel an Asphalt Ventures event at Bluegrass last summer because the track was not ready. Despite having the base coat of asphalt laid last Spring, it is still not ready for events. Kinda left a bitter impression on my hopes of a timely opening of a new track.

AMP is gonna be awesome if they ever finish... but for me WAY to much $$$$.. I hope they let NASA and other clubs rent it for a resonable amount

I know they have been fighting with local neighboorhoods..... not unlike RA

Road Atl has had some issues with the new developments near the track. I hope they continue to win those battles. I'd hate to see a 100 db limit there

I would love to run AMP with NASA when they get it done (optimist in me), it won't be this year (pessemist)

Downhill, increasing radius, flatout corner onto a straight. Daddy likes.

Kewl...... the bluegrass yaa-hoos also tried to emmulate eau rouge, but what they ended up with is an area that will bottom out every car HARD......and that particualar area is covered in mud 8"s deep right now.

Lucky bastards having 2 tracks sooo close, not to mention all of the others in close proximation

Sneak peek tour of Atlanta Motorsports Park:

You're invited to an invitation only informal sneak peek tour of the future home of Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP), in Dawsonville, GA exclusively for Audi Club members. Ground has been broken and construction is well underway. Not many people can make the statement: “I stood on this ground before it was a racetrack”, so now is the perfect time to get an inside look not only into the layout and elevation of the track starting to take shape, but also the careful planning that gone into this development.

Also, since they are under construction, the folks at AMP are always looking for good ideas to implement into the project, so the only bad idea is the one you do not share. The best idea wins with their team, not necessarily their ideas alone.

Join us on Saturday, July 10th at 9:30 AM (RSVP requested) as the Founder and his team give us a walk-through of the under construction course and the facilities. So wear some shoes you can get dirty!

Property values are down...

Times are bad for Cities and Counties, anything goes right now, if it will generate more tax revenue....

Look at all these abandoned race tracks coming back to life recently....

Another example, who would ever think they would let airplanes race in New York City ??

One flaw I see in the AMP track, they are running counter clockwise
according to the plan...

Would it be smarter to have pit entrance or exit on a fast straight???
Right now the entrance is on the fast straight.....
