on street tires or street r compounds(NittoR2, Toyo's..etc) on tracks like the glen, limerock, etc? enough already about the race prepped cars with the race tires and fancy suspensions to make you faster, I want to know what a pro could get out of a stock car.. anyone know? the track time websites and links dont provide this

NASA TTA C5 records are a decent benchmark, fairly much stock C5Z06's. Typically aftermarket sway bars and a little weight loss for the most part. A few other little tweaks we can do but OEM shocks/springs/brakes/engines/hp/etc.

*edit* NASA NE track record section is a bit lacking, so no real info on any of the NE tracks.

I haven't been to the glen in 6 yrs (sniff) and my old SHO ran 1.04.xx at limerock and it's about 10+ sec slower than the C5Z at Road Atlanta on a more hp track, I'd say high 50's at Limerock would be a pretty ballpark for a C5Z on Hoosiers.

I'm from the west coast, so I don't know much about east coast or midwest tracks. However I can tell you a little about my experiences moving from street tires to street R-comps (Toyo RA-1s) a few years ago.

If a track takes about 2 minutes per lap, R-comps will chop off 4 or 5 seconds per lap (3 or 4%). I would expect about the same percentage improvement on most tracks.

Besides the added grip from the softer rubber compound, you will also notice that R-comps are more controllable due to their internal structure (firmer sidewalls, better tread stability, better heat tolerance, etc.)

I'm currently using Kumho V710s, which are even faster than the RA-1s and R888s.

Limerock: I ran a 59.xx on Scrub AS05 (or what ever they were called) pre A6 in 40 degree weather.

That was a completely stock C5Z06 not TTA preped, I would say 57 or high 56 in good weather and fresh A6s

likely so, and amazing, as a NASCAR east series car gets around there in 53-54. A prep'd out TTA C5Z would probably be nudging that.
