I'm with you, I told myself (and the wife) one of two years. I went last year and I'm sure Forbis can represent the Great Lake/Mid West just fine.

I would be willing to spear head it but it would be nice to have a MA and SE ST guy involved also so we could get a cool schedule and more cars. (get the word out)

The key will be a east coaster would need to win Nationals otherwise it could devalue the Championship

I'm pretty much the only mid atlantic st2'er left. Theres a bunch in the SE, and a bunch in the NE. I'm happy to help you with this points race in any way I can.

Ya, perfect..all East Coast. The car counts (except for STO) are all on the West Coast, I don't understand why everyone wants to have such great events and hold it only for East Coast..and then they bitch and moan about car count.

Well I don't think the goal of this is to ostracize the west coast. The only problem is that we've got 3000 some odd miles separating us. Our car counts aren't as high as yours, and this is a way of making them better.

Maybe we can hold separate east coast and west coast series, with a finale at nationals?

I don't know, I just want good racing.

I'm always amazed at the northeast w/ NASA, with most of the US population up in the upper right corner, they seem to be almost non-existent.

and I understand that, it's just one of those things that keeps going around in a circle. Even Pintaric mentioned: "where have all the C5 T-1 guys gone". It's not like we just vanished. People on the east coast that weren't able to race last year are racing this year, and class count has tripled on the West Coast; and some who were racing last year can't afford to race this year because of the economy. We're all trying to run both NASA and SCCA out here, more seat time + more chance to win tires= WIN/WIN. My sponsor's shop is 408 miles, and I need to get back down to him to get a 2nd tune (de-tune) so I can legally run with NASA ST2, until then I can't compete.

The West-Coasters have been trying for years to have a 2ndary type of Runoffs (SCCA) so we too can enjoy this event without having to trailer 2,200 miles just to get there. Maybe get a West Coast champion and East Coast champion and find a track in middle ground (or close to) for a REAL Showdown/Runoffs event.
