which shifter? MGW or Hurst??
I am going to change my stock shifter and am deciding between these two. Anyone have experience with both and can guide to which one I should go for??
Thanks

Unfortunately I only have experience with stock C5, stock C6, and MGW. I was hesitant to go with an aftermarket shifter because my MN6 has always been a little tight going into 6th. When I finally did step up to the MGW, I did not notice any increase in difficulty shifting into gears. The MGW is a very nice quality piece with 35% throw reduction. I have not ever heard any one complain about the MGW and you rarely see a used one for sale. You will see a few used Hurst and B&M in the classifieds though - just saying.

OMG MGW rocks. Only problem is its too good and takes a while to get used to
1) not "pushing" into a gear left or right but letting it glide
2) its weird not having a neutral wiggle at all

Can't comment on the Hurst as I have not had it. Have used my stock ZO6 shifter(modified), the C6 ZO6 shifter and now have the MGW shifter. Of the 3 shifters, I prefer the MGW. While it is somewhat stiff initially, it loosens as you use it. The 4-5 and 5-6 shifts are still tight but I rarely have to use#5 and #6 gears.

thanks for the input
i heard a lot of people complain about 5 6 gear and even reverse.
i do a lot of hwy driving so 5 and 6th gear are important.
i just bought a hurst off a forum member for 100 shipped.
i will try it out, if I am not satisfied I can always switch.
thanks for all the input

I went from stock to a B&M and on to an MGW last year. The MGW is by far a much better shifter. It was a little tight for the first couple of weeks, after that it was not a problem at all.

I was very happy with the Hurst right up to the point where the internals came apart at VIR on day one of a 3-day DE last June. Guess what one spare part was still on the shelf in my garage rather than in my spares box?

Which Shifter?
I have both. The MGW is more expensive but it is a much better made product. This is very evident side by side. Whether there is $100 difference can only be speculated on but the resale value sure makes the point that it is superior.
I replaced my Hurst with a MGW twice! Once for my track car and once for my cruiser.
