Cage/Fire System Complete!
Just picked up my car from my cage builder. He did a great job with this cage. 1.75" steel .120 thick bars to nasa/scca specs. He pulled the fuel tanks and welded the hoop to the frame. Somehow managed to weld everything without pulling the windows. But he said he would pull the rear window next time. My head was really close to the upper door bar, so he bent it out as far as possible. Also installed a fire system and put in my quaife differential with a built-in cooling system that I bought off RamAudio .
My car weighs nearly the same as it did without the cage (I had a 35 lb harness/roll bar). It might be about 40 lbs heavier now and I still have to put my passenger seat in for ballast so I will meet TTS weight specs for my 380 rwhp. I still have AC, stereo, power windows/door locks, center console, dash, but no airbags. I love the momo steering wheel! Lastly, I just installed some SKF hubs in front and have 2 more for the rear to install later. Here are some pics:

Thanks guys. I'm really happy with how it turned out.
That window net is actually right over the center console. There is a quick release pull-string right above the stereo. It pulls out very quickly if needed.
Can't wait to join you guys and get schooled , but I need to get my license and my car teched for racing first. Plus my weekends are booked for a while since my kids are on summer break. I think I need to do a battery kill switch for scca/nasa. I might need to look at how you guys did that. And if you can help me get my license this year that would be great. I am a scca member now. Good luck this weekend and have fun! Post some vids when you're done.

Awesome looking cage! I'm surprised about the weight, that's very good news. Do you have anymore information on the cage builder if anybody is interested in contacting them?

Come do some Regionals with me! Once you get your NASA comp license you can actually use that in conjunction with your SCCA membership to run Regionals! That's what I was doing last year with my HSR license and just applied for a waiver for my National Comp license.

As I mentioned in your other thread, that is AWESOME. A couple of quick Qs: how much spacer did you go with on the steering wheel? You're about the same height as me I right (I'm 6' even)? I imagine he'd have to work the upper door-bar the same way on my car. Do the seat-mounts tie into the cage, and do they have seat-back supports tied into the cage?
I will be contacting him shortly and getting my car to him, too cool.
