Default Brake duct question

I just ordered a set of Quantum Spindle ducts for my '08 C6 / Z-51 / Widebody. I have a few questions: 1) What is the preferred duct type - SCAT or SCEET? (I am thinking SCEET), 2) What diameter is best 3" or 3.25"?, 3) How many feet do I need to order?

Thanks for the help,
Charley

I use Scat because it's more flexible, but the more expensive double wall Sceet will work better for air flow and is probably more than flexible enough. The diameter will be determined by the size of your spindle duct attachment.

You'll only need about 2 feet per side.

for my 06 Z06, 3.5" will fit OVER the OEM ducts. 3.25" is too big to fit inside, and too small to fit outside. I'm not sure what size would fit inside, but I'm going with the larger. I use SCEET. 3' will go from the OEM duct to the center of the hub on both sides.

A good source with a good selection is R/A Hoerr. I buy about a 12' section at a time and it lasts a good while (and I even rig additional rear brake ducts besides the front ones).

Are the aircraft hoses alright for daily drivers? I was told by quantum that their hoses are better for cars that only do Autocross and 5 ish HPDE's per year.

What do you think?

I use the Scat/Sceet aircraft hoses. They stay on the car all the time. They're fine on a daily driver. It isn't just how many HPDEs you do a year. The constant flexing on the tubes from turning the car. That tears up the cheap stuff in no time. You see the wire ripping through the nylon layer. Get the Scat/Sceet with double wall. It's smoother inside so should flow better. You can go all year and probably into your second year depending on how much you rub on them.

After spending the money for brake and spindle ducts don't cheap out on the hose. Check out Aircraft Spruce. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/sceet.php
