LG MOtorsports ZR1 heading to Spectre 341 Virginia City Hill climb
Hi guys,
I already posted a glimps of this but here is the full info on the race. GOTO http://www.spectre341challenge.com/ to get the rules and info on the race this weekend near Reno.
The car is on the way to Nv and we fly out to the SPECTRE 341 Challenge open road race in Virginia City Nv with the ZR1 tomorrow.
Looks like the Stillen Nissan twin turbo whatever will be hard to beat but we won't let that stop us.
At any rate, we are heading out with this car for the 5.2 mile open road race. The record is held by a Modified Ferrari F40 twin turbo.
We have upped the boost with pulleys, added our LG Super Pro Long Tube headers and put 18" wheels all around to get a better choice of tires. No race tires and no more than a 100 wear rating/ the stock ZR1 tires have a 220 wear rating.
We also built a custom Triple Disc Carbon Clutch with our own flywheel which removes a ton of rotating weight.
Oh yeah, we put a new rear bumper on the car so we could add a wing without damaging the stock original bumper. Then added our own ZR1 front splitter with a bottom and then added an addtional splittere on to that.
The race starts from 5000 ft and ends at 6200 ft. So I will be out of breath.
We will keep you posted.
Thanks
Lou Gigliotti

Melting Slicks
I think LG Motorsports is bringing the "heat", should be hard to beat especially with Lou at the helm. Keep it on the road and keep the candles lit. Good luck Lou and be safe. I dont think that I will be suprised by the outcome
Did you go out and study the route Lou, or are you just going to wing it ?? 5.2 miles cant be that hard to figure out, not much longer than say Road America.....Are you allowed to make multiple attempts or no ??

Thanks guys
going today to study the road
It's like running on utah and lime rock together.
I think it is the best run out of 2 days
We brought the in car camera so I can post something up as we go
Stillen is loaded for bear. I just hope we are bigger than a bear
thanks

That video is insane...can't imagine accelerating full speed toward a wall of solid rock or a 2000ft drop. I don't think I could do it myself.
Good luck and be safe!

This should be fun. Looking forward to competing with your car. Any AWD car is going to be a factor and with your car posting over 600 before the new inter coolers you installed, this should be fun.
We boosted the hp on our car to over 1200 rear wheel hp.
JUST KIDDING
it is just a bit over stock Must be the LG Super Pro Long Tube headers that will make the difference (shameless plug)
See you at the track (highway) or whatever it is.
Cheers,
Lou Gigliotti

This has our GT-R link and the build photos and almost everything we have on the car. It has seen a "few" new additions for this event. We had to make a few extra mods as well since the car is being crated up and sent across the Pacific to run the Targa New Zealand late Sunday!
