Default mixing BFG R1 w/ V710 ??

So I can get some new BFG R1 fairly cheap and I have some V710s that have been in my basement.

The R1 would be fronts. The V710s are couple yrs old.
for fun/casual track days...
any concerns? would this create handling issues? what tire psi should I use? I don't like to mix, but lately, used fronts are difficult to find...

Mixing brand tires is not that big of a deal in my opinion, but mixing new R comps with 2 year old ones will cause handling woes. If you do it, put the old ones on the front and just deal with the understeer.

Even when old, the V710's seem to work pretty well once they get hot, so I'd put them on the back and see how it works. Just don't get crazy on the out lap, work them up to temp and they shoud be ok.

The R1s are a little harder rubber compound (less grip, but last longer) than the V710s. So putting them on the front should be OK. The handling balance will probably be slight understeer, which is a little slower, but much safer.
