Default Deleted heater core, do I need to run the rear coolant line?

I took a picture of how I currently have it setup... The air bleed line from the radiator to the back of the coolant tank has since been installed as has the line from the radiator to the throttle-body.

After finishing it I got to thinking if I even needed the rear line. Could I just cap off the rear part of the "T" on the bottom of the coolant tank and the rear side port on the water pump?

It'd give me more room and more space to drain my catch can that will eventually be in the area. I PMed DavidFarmer, Randy@DRM, and Raftracer as they all seem to know C5 racecars, but David and Randy couldn't give me difinitive answers.... they ran the rear line like I have in the picture below. Raft hasn't responed yet so I figured I'd make a post and see what everyone thought.

Thoughts?

What you have is correct. I would not try to plug or cap the water pump.
If the heater core is still physically in the car, make sure so cap off the lines so cooant doesn't slosh out.

Travis that is just fine the way you hooked it up. That is the same way my race car and every other car that we have built.
