Help 315 square setup
Looking for some help with regards to a running 315x17 square setup on a 2002 Z06. Other then running ccw classics in sizes 17x10 and 17x11, what wheels are people running.
Does grandsport/zr1 repro style wheels in 17x11 in 50mm offsets work for all four corners.
I would think 17x11 on all four would work except for extreme lock.
I did a search and didnt find the exact answer I was looking for.
Any help is appreciated
Thanks Nando

I run 315's front and rear on stock rear Z06 wheels. So the wheels are 10.5x18" that work on the front and rear.
Edit: Ooops. Just realized you were specifically asking about 17" wheels. Sorry.

I run OEM GS wheels on my 02 Z06. Right now I'm running 315 & 335 on 9.5 & 11" rims.
I put my 17X11 50mm offset GS wheels with 315's on front and they stuck out like Dumbo's ears. I met some guys at Road America a few years ago that ran the 17x11 W/315 at all four corners without problem... so they said. I think they will rub a bit at full lock, but that is pretty unusual except when parking the car in the pits.
My friend with 02 Z06 runs 315/18 on 18x10.5 Z06 wheels on all 4 corners. The tires on the front fender and wheel well liner at extreme compression/cornering conditions. A little more negative camber might fix that, but I'm not sure.

I ran the GS 17x11 wheels on the front. The biggest issues are avoiding steering lock when moving around the garage or paddock area. The tires will rub on the DRM ducts if you have them and the rims will rub the inside edge on the lower control arm. The control arm will then strip off any balance weights you have mounted there.

Not to hijack the tread but I autocross a C4 Corvette, and have 3 sets of 9x17 wheels. The question is can I get away with running 315 Kumho V710s. 295's fit fine but a little concerned with 315's?

My dad does it all the time on his 90 ZR-1 in the front. They don't rub anywhere we can see or be conserned about. I know people who have lowered vettes and run the 315s on 11" rims and don't have a problem except at the very limit of lock to lock. Dad runs 295 or 315s up front and 335s rear. It can be done.

Have been running GS Clones 17x11 - 315s square for several years on both a 2000 Coupe and a 2008 Z51 coupe (with downsized c5 brakes). No issues except for slight rub at FULL lock (in the pits, might be a problem for AutoX but not an issue for track events).
11" fronts (315) with 12" (335) rears might be faster but the square setup lets me rotate tires and get more events out of a set of tires. My dad runs GS 11" fronts and CCW Classic rears 12" (and 11" Classics on rear too) - the GS wheels clear his Wilwood Brake setup and he doesn't have to run a spacer.
I am thinking about going to an 18"x 11" adn 12" (Forgestars) set this Winter but am not looking forward to the increased tire costs...the 17x11-315 setup is the most economical and still fast...
Good luck.

Experience from another 02QSC5Z...I used to run the 315x17 T1 setup, then moved to 18x12 R and 18x11 F, 315 square. Both setups cleared everything except the front fenders. While the front wheel opening has been worn (up) extensively, and I used a file on it to help right-size the opening faster, the only real solution to the clearance problem was to pitch the stock springs and go to coil overs and large sway bars - I went with the DRM coil overs and Phadt competition bars. All that lateral grip needs to be offset by stiffer roll resistance.
I am now running Pirelli 18x305's. They clear everything and tuck in up front, but the increased grip over the Hoosiers has brought my problem full circle. More lateral grip and body roll is causing the inside front tire to be carried through high-G, low compression turns - at just the right speed (87,turn 5, WGI) I can feel the inside tire skipping on the pavement - feels like the front-end is going to shake itself apart...at 89+ the tire remains in the air and all is smooth.
