C4 harness bar
Does anyone have a Hardbar harness bar, and if so how do you like it. How was installation and was everything you needed for install included? Thanks, Kim.

I just spent 2 days installing a Hardbar in a C5. It was a nightmare. The bolts that they send you are too long. They will reach the end of the stock seat belt mount holes and then start deforming at the tip because there are no more threads back there. By the time you figure something is not right,
and reverse the bolt out, that deformed tip is destroying the good threads on the way out. I ended up having to buy a tap to fix the threads of the
B pillar, Then bought a grinder, a vise, an electric saw (hacksaw would have added another day) and had to fabricate a spacer to put on the head of the bolt so it would be the right length.
The Bar itself is a work of art, but the hardware they send you should be labeled "B pillar destruction kit"

I've had one in my 86 for years. I recommend getting the extensions so its not right behind your head. I had no problems installing it and having a real harness holding you in the seat makes a big difference driving on the track.

I have one in my '96. None of the problems the above poster had with the C5 but could be that the installations are significantly different. Hardware was high quality and installation was pretty easy. Installed mine about 8 years ago.

I hate to take this off topic, I have been trying to find out if it is alright to run a harness bar and harness with stock seats, which I see you have. Have you had any problems with the shoulder straps slipping or not being allowed to participate in events due to them not going through the seat backs?
