Default going to the track this weekend just got more expensive.

the short week doesnt help but as i was replacing my front hub on the dually now i see i have a pretty good rear main seal leak

need to get it fixed before leaving thursday for 3 day track weekend. $700 labor that is with a discount

i could do it myself but no way in hell to find the time this week + i am sure the allison tranny is pretty heavy!.

gotta love the last minute problems before a track weekend!!

3 cups of sawdust, three raw eggs, a couple cig butts and that should take care of it.

But what about his tow vehicle!

Good luck Derrick!

Do you have the new hood on?

Sorry to hear it. This is also a cost to trailer to a race. Wear and tear and depreciation. For me it is 320 miles round trip to any track. So what does it really cost per mile on a dooley? Even just for depreciation I guess .50 or more?

yep just put in 2 new front hubs this past weekend and a cv axle i found with a torn boot when i was putting in the hubs.

4 new rear tires the weekend before

needs new front brake pads it looks like maybe rotors too, thank goodness for rock auto parts

got the pickup used may 2009 with 215k on it so cant complain too bad for getting it for only 9k

02 dually with duramax and allison in good shape body and mechanically wise.

dont usually even drive it unless towing to an event so as far as use/$ spent on it this year i havent gotten my $$$ worth LOL

Sorry to hear it. I had a bunch of unexpected expenses at my last track weekend also. My off-road excursion wiped out a set of Kumhos (slid across something in the infield), plus something other items.

I got so tired of fighting the tow vehicle I broke down in Feb and bought a new 2010 Dodge 2500. It's a beast, it's comfortable, I get 14.5 MPG towing an 8,000lb rig at 75 mph...but the payment on the truck is more than on my Z!!

Ugh, you pay it one way or another, I just ended up paying it monthly.

Well for the disclaimer. Egg is for the radiator, in theory it stops leaks.

Sawdust is for fixing loose bearings. I had a buddy with a Toyota pickup. He worked in the logging industry, yes the back frame rail rusted out and he used wood instead. It had a loud knock, the 75w90 didn't help. So he started using sawdust, years later the truck is still on the road and not knocking

I hear ya, trans is going out on my silverado ss with only 65k! What a POS.

I am getting ready to dump a ton of money on a new Texas Cadalliac. Want the new durmax with all the extras-

Anyone know any dealers that deal on these? Or do all dealers think these are worth more than gold?

I'm curious if any of the forum dealers would deal on one. They are Chevy dealers after all.

there is some good deals on duallys on ebay. for bran new 2011 ones.

sometimes there is good deals at end of year but they sell out quick due to 0 percent interest.

i wonder if there is some big dealers who sell cheap on the diesel forums?
