Default Corvette WINS Petit Le Mans

Corvette wins the Petit Le Mans as the Ferrari runs out of fuel on the final lap.

Cingrats to the Corvette Team ... you guys have worked hard.
Enjoy the win. It is great.

What an exciting finish to the race.....I think there might be an execution being planned in Marinello, Italy right now for the Ferarri crew chief that got his mileage math screwed up..to think the results of the entire season came down to one quart of E85..addin pain to sorrow they threw away the Constructor's title as well...BMW 1st with 158 pts, Porsche 2nd with 157 and Ferarri 3rd at 155....A great victory for the Pratt & Miller boys after a season of the other kind of luck....Big Congrats to all the drivers and crew members....Nice job, Doug Fehan as well..looks like the decision to shuffle the drivers paid off....start planning for next season....the competition will be even tougher...

Just curious - how does the Ferrari still end up 3rd when they didn't cross the finish line? It looked like they were stopped dead about a turn or 2 short. Does the running order get locked in once the winning car crosses the line?

It didn't cross you mind that someone on "CORVETTE FORUM" might be discussing the biggest thing to happen to Corvette racing this year? Next time I'll post it on Lady's Sewing Circle......

Why do you think other people go through the trouble of NOT putting it the TITLE of their post and if they do want to discuss it, listing it as a possible SPOILER?

So Roy's post didn't clue you in to what happened?

Good point. According to the ALMS web page, the #4 Corvette completed 355 laps as did the Patron Ferrari, and then it list the Rici Ferrari The BMW of RLR , the Flying Lizard Porsche and the #3 Corvette all at 354 laps. I did not think all of those were a lap down so did they all simply pit and not cross the finish line, I don't think so.

Maybe someone can explain how it happened.

It is worth watching anyway - it is all over the internet - but spolier protocol is nice. I am still going to watch the rebroadcast of the Indy race in Maimi tonight...

Wow, what a race. They fought long and hard and finally got what they deserved after a very long, tough season.

Yeah but people with common sense would be respectful it's been an unwritten rule that you don't post winners (spoilers) in the title of the thread, it's just rude
