305's on all 4 corners for track use?
Hey guys,
I am looking to do a square set up using 18" wagon wheels on my C5 for track use. I know the conventional "rules" say you should not use wider than a 285 on the stock rear wagon wheels, but has anyone used a 305 without issues? Finding matched sets of 285 or 295 r comps is not as easy as I thought it would be.
Thanks,
Brandon

Yeah but you're special!!! My luck I'd crack my damn DRM ducts!
They would be track only tires so that would work... Maybe a tad smaller though, I'll have to check and see which ones are easier to get on a day to day basis in scrubs...
Thanx Tom!

Brake ducts are like rotors, expendable every few years
Track wheels left, 18x305/30 on 18x12, and 18x335/30 on 18x13
Street wheels right 18x275/35 on 18x10 and 18x335/30 on 18x12

Four or Five hours... Just far enough to incur a freight charge.
Thanx for the info, I'm going to check with Todd at GT Tires also.
Tim
PS I had those new Brakes really cooking last Sunday, found the limit on the Sport pads...

I picked up some used a6 335's to try on my stock 10.5 x 18 rear rims.
Do you run a spacer to clear the tub? How thick? Thanks.
I'm on stock bolts & not lowered "all the way" in the rear. I am all the way down on the front stock bolts.

My street rear rims are 18x12 with the 18x335/30 Mich PS they rubbbed the inner liner out on cornering
my track rims are 18x13 and 18x335/30 hoosiers GAs Needed a 3/8" spacer and loner ARP studs to fit.

I am going to try squeezing the 335's on a stock (10.5) rim so will have to experiment with some spacers. I have run 315's with no spacer & they clear fine. I think a 1/4 or a 3/8 should do.

I've run 305s on 18" WWs for years without problems. Haven't had any problems with rubbing, but I don't usually go to the limits when parking.
And, having both a set of WWs and Z06 rims, their weight isn't that different, and the WWs are half the price.
HTH, and have a good one,
Mike
