Default Tony Gaples..The Speed Business Video

Have you all seen the you tube channel thespeedbusinesstv? It follows Tony Gaples season racing his Corvette. Awesome footage and awesome production. Good stuff. There are currently three episodes each broken down into three 10 minute videos so there is a lot of watching to do if you have not started. Latest episode is in Denver

Very cool video!!!
I can't conceive of the amount of money necessary to compete today!

In 1961 Phil Hill made "$100,000" by winning the World Championship
In 1966 Richard Petty raced a season of NASCAR with the dollar figure of this Corvette racecar
In 1972 I raced the IMSA Camel GT season for about $3000
I'm not a player, I guess I'm just a puzzled survivor

Gaples is a fellow member at Autobahn. He's pretty easy going and does smile plenty when he's out there for fun and not working on keeping the car in once piece.

I've been fortunate to work with Tony Kester who's our track Pro and he's bar none one of the best. Excellent communicator!

As far as Blackdog, top notch shop and Ray is a true gentleman!

No doubt. It's ridiculously expensive even if you aren't competitive.

Cool videos. Mike, I think I met Tony at one of the Track Attack events, and he rode with/instructed me a bit in the Mosler. I enjoyed having him in the car.

I really enjoyed the vids. I have learned a lot from a tech. standpoint and more importantly money wise what it takes to run a small race team.
